Making lights shine out of waste material
CLASSIC COPPER
The lamp has a functional design and the shape is mainly determined by the available materials. For example, the radius of pre-bend copper piping is perfect for this design. Furthermore, the lamp is fitted with a suitable brass socket with an integrated turn type switch. What I personally like about this lamp is that the form language is quite uniform which gives the lamp a calm overall look and the warmness of the lamp, thanks to the materials that were used.
GRANDPA’S MECCANO
The materials used are mainly metal and wood, with a 3d printed plastic switch housing. The shape is classic and functional. The mechanism is based on a four bar linkage in which the lamp’s weight is counterbalanced with a spring.
What makes this lamp very special for me, is the fact that I actually used my grandfather’s meccano to create it.
Propeller Fan
Watch your fingers!
The propeller fan is hand made out of wood and perfectly balanced. Driven by a DC motor it gives a nice gust of fresh wind with a natural touch. The blow angle is adjustable and the fan can run either on a power adapter or on 6 AA batteries. And last but certainly not least, check out that sweet engine view…
BLOOMING BULBS
These bulbs are entirely home grown.. not. Nevertheless they give a natural glow to the living room. The bamboo vase is filled with concrete for a solid stance.
